Active Duty Wounded Soldier Retreats

HomePlace Wounded Soldier Weekend

Active duty soldiers who are in the process of recovering from their injuries are invited to come to HomePlace for a weekend of RNR. These soldiers are members of the soldier recovery units from various military posts.

Friday

The wounded soldiers arrive on Friday evening. They are given a brief overview of the schedule, a real cookout, and they get to fish on the 6+ acre pond and explore the farm with hikes and RTV rides!

Saturday

On Saturday we take the wounded soldiers Striper fishing on Lake Murray, with fishing captains and we provide fish cleaning services! The afternoon is free RNR time for the soldiers to traverse and explore the beautiful HomePlace farms! That evening, dinner is provided by Hawg Heaven out of Prosperity SC.

Sunday

Sunday morning the soldier receive a hero’s welcome at Dutch fork Church! After the service, they get a home cooked meal and a waterproof bible to take back to the recovery unit!

Our Goal: On average, 22 service members and veterans a day are committing suicide. Veterans, as a group, have one of the highest divorce rates in our nation. It is our desire to help these wounded service members encounter Jesus, get a well deserved break and appreciation, to give them hope and end this devastating trend.
